Phoenix Suns Basketball Team has a long and rich history. It is one of the most successful teams in NBA with eight division titles, two conference titles and one NBA championship in 1976. Throughout its existence, team has been blessed with some of the greatest basketball players ever to grace the court. Let’s take a look at five best players that have represented this franchise.

1) Charles Barkley –

NBA named as one of 50 Greatest Players one of the most dominant power forwards in NBA history twice during his stint with Suns from 1992 to 1996. He led the team to their Western Conference Finals appearance in 1993 where they were defeated by Chicago Bulls – unfortunately for Suns, it would be the closest they got to a championship title until recently.

2) Steve Nash –

The two-time MVP of the league was an integral part of the team for eight seasons from 1996 to 2004. He is widely considered as one of the greatest point guards in NBA history and it’s no surprise he holds several franchise records for assists, three pointers made and free throw percentage. Under his leadership, Phoenix Suns reached the Western Conference Finals twice in 2005 and 2006.

3) Walter Davis –

Walter Davis spent 12 years with Suns between 1977-1989 and proved himself a consistent scorer throughout his entire career. He was named to six All-Star teams while averaging 16 points per game during his stay at Phoenix Suns which earned him a place in their Ring Of Honor. His number ‘6’ was retired by the franchise in his honor.

4) Kevin Johnson –

Johnson was another talented point guard who made Suns relevant again during his six-year tenure from 1988 to 1998, leading them to five playoff appearances and a Western Conference Finals appearance in 1993. He is also the only Suns player to have recorded a triple double in an NBA finals game while averaging 20 points and 10 assists per season with Phoenix Suns.

5) Amar’e Stoudemire –

The powerful forward spent eight seasons of his career playing for Suns before he moved onto other teams due to injuries and decline in his performance. Even so, he managed to become one of the most popular players among fans as he was named an All-Star five times during his stay at Suns and won the Most Improved Player award in 2003. He also led them to a Western Conference finals appearance in 2010 where they were defeated by Lakers.
